I feel that it’s only right to kick this off with my favorite salad of all times.
From what I know, it’s a pretty American salad, and it’s typically served as a main dish. I’ve actually only made it a few times but when I do, I tend to go slightly overload with the bacon.
And by slightly, I mean that I’m likely to add one more row of bacon, and maybe a little less egg. I’m not sure why, but I can’t seem to wrap my mind around eggs in salad, or any other kind of meat in salad, really. Just bacon.
I know, I need to branch out.
Anyhow, what’s your favorite salad? Do you make it yourself or do you pick it up somewhere else?
I recognize that next that in addition to other things I spend my time doing online, (such as topics related to my music or lifestyle blog or QUITE Magazine), the idea of me writing a salad blog probably makes no sense at all.
However, in the non-online version of my life, it actually makes a lot of sense. Recently, my husband has started a garden, we’ve been attempting to eat a lot healthier, and I’ve been finding myself eating more and more salad as time goes on.
However, I will offer somewhat of a disclaimer by saying that this blog is not about the cause of salads, or Saladom, if you would (pretty sure that’s not a word, but it sounds like it should be, especially when you say it aloud in your best Gandalf voice–go on–try saying it–you know you want to), but simply because I like the idea of salads as a healthy, often quick (AND cheap) alternative to a lot of the other things I find myself eating.
We all need to eat healthier and this blog is designed to inspire everyone (including myself) to do just that by getting creative and excited about one of the 21st century’s most popular menu items: salad!
